Project no.6: Exhibition space

This design will be influenced by Phillip Hoare and the key elements that have made him they way he is, that he was managing bands back in the day as well as running a record label, so music is a major influence in his life. He also was praised for his work Leviathan which is a book, that describes a personal and societal fascination with whales, so incorporating this would be something he has illustrated is a passion for him.

Another influence is post punk and the culture surrounding it. My Concept is called ‘Deconstructive Timeline’ this can be seen as a way of immersing within his mind. Deconstructive talks about the deconstructive style of the punk style, like the way this culture demonstrates itself as a rebellion against politics and a movement of change within society. Conceptually speaking i took deconstruction as something that links to the rebellion of that time period and Phillips rebellion against other people views about his passions. ‘Timeline’ talks about a way we can time travel to the past to understand Phillips influences, i would like to quite literally tunnel vision into this project and include a ‘portal/ tunnel’ like structure that resembles culture through time.
